The code for Jersey is 01534 from the British Isles or +44 1534 from any other country.

Mobile phone usage

The main UK mobile phone networks do not extend to Jersey. To use your mobile in the Island, you need to select one of the three networks that are available.

Jersey Telecom

To use the Jersey Telecom network on your handset. Just follow the five simple steps below:

  1. Select 'Settings'
  2. Select 'Phone Settings'
  3. Select 'Network Selection'
  4. Select 'Manual'
  5. Select 'JT - Wave'

Airtel-Vodafone

Customers who are roaming within Jersey while on holiday will either be able to latch onto the Airtel-Vodafone network automatically, or have to select our network manually which can be found in phone settings or sim services.  Depending on the model of your handset our network can be seen as three different network names, which are; 23403, Airtel or Airtel-Vodafone.  While roaming on our network, customers will be charged as per their operators’ roaming tariff rates.

Sure.Mobile        Cable & Wireless

To use the Sure.Mobile / Cable & Wireless service select the network manually in phone settings or sim services.

  1. Select the network options on your handset.  Normally this sits under the 'phone' or 'network' area within your settings.
  2. Choose the option to select your mobile network manually.
  3. Your phone will then search for any available mobile networks.
  4. Select Sure Cable & Wireless for great coverage and rates


Customers using their mobile outside of the UK for the first time will probably be barred from 'roaming'. To have this 'bar' lifted, or if you are having other problems with your mobile, please call your UK service provider.
