Travelling with Pets

General Information

Cats and dogs travelling direct from the UK and the Republic of Ireland to Jersey do not require an EU Pet Passport. Pets entering from another member state of the EU or a Non-EU listed country would need to be Pet Travel Scheme compliant and have a valid EU Pet Passport. For more information on the Pet Travel Scheme and the Pet Passport go to the Environment Division website or email rva@gov.je.

* Between the hours of 10.30am - 6.00pm during the period 01 May - 30 September inclusive it is against the law to:

• Bring any dog on the beach unless on a lead
• Permit any dog of which you are in charge to rush at, worry, or otherwise interfere with the safety, comfort or convenience of any person on the beach
• Fail to remove from the beach any faeces deposited by a dog of which you are in charge (with the exception of guide dogs)

Dogs are permitted within the town area but must be kept on a lead at all times. The fine for contravening this law currently stands at £50.00

Guide dogs are not permitted at Jersey Zoo.

Approved Routes and Carriers

To bring your pet into Jersey you will need to travel with an approved carrier. To find out which carriers you can travel with please consult the Pet Travel Scheme (PETS) Information Booklet compiled by the States of Jersey.
