Catherine Best Jewellery

Catherine Best is a world renound jewellery designer and the beautiful Windmill provides the perfect setting for her shop and workshop. From here you can see many of her orignal designs and even purchase (if the mood takes you). Most of the products that are for sale in her wonderful shop are unique to Jersey and therefore you are highly unlikely to see someone wearing the the same item. Catherine has won many awards for her Jewellery designing and features on the "Who's Who in Gold and Silver" list. The Windmill also houses a wonderful restaurant perfect for a warm snug winter meal or an "alfresco" summer treat.

Central Market, St Helier

The Central Market has long been a source of pride to the people of Jersey. Between them, the 36 market stalls cover almost every retail experience – everything from antiques to flowers, fresh vegetables to jewellery. If you can’t find what you want here then you have to ask the question: do you really need it?

The more modern Beresford Market (or Fish Market as it is more commonly known) is justly popular for its high-quality produce and the atmosphere generated by its hard-working fishmongers.

Fish 'n' Beads

Beach shack in St. Brelade's Bay. A unique shop selling a beautiful selection of beads where you can create your own jewellery whilst sitting outside beside the beach. Appeals to all ages from 3 - 93. The shop also sells local art made from driftwood, wooden toys, jumpers and fantastic recycled cards. A real treasure trove beside the sea. Jersey Goldsmiths

Lion Park is home to Jersey Goldsmiths and six independent businesses and over the years has become an essential part of island life. Learn more about diamonds with the experts at Diamondology or closely view the skill of the goldsmiths on The Bench as they bring a new piece of jewellery to life. Celebrity jewellery and memorabilia adorn the walls at Star Attraction, with a selection of stunning pieces from stars of stage and screen. If you would like to bring out your creative side a visit to the Quicksilver School of Jewellery is for you, your design can be sketched out, made and ready to take home in less than an hour. Rest a while at Café Gold, the smell of scrumptious home made cakes and fresh coffee spill out onto the floral patio. Here the Bear Works is a lovely idea where the children can make their own custom made teddy bear. Or choose that special gift from That Little Extra and Cards & Caboodles. Locals and holidaying visitors enjoy the park, as children climb on the biggest lion in Jersey, Pan for Gold or hunt for treasure on the Pirate Trail. The parents can sit and relax with the backdrop of the freshwater lake, home to flamingo’s, ducks and huge koi carp. Lion Park is a firm favourite for summer day barbecues and refreshments.

Jersey Lavender Farm

Wonderfully scenic and fragrant attraction, only 5 minutes from the airport and near the west of the island beaches, Jersey Lavender offers a relaxing, interesting and educational way of spending a few hours of your holiday. From the end of May to early August the lavender is in bloom, providing a spectacular site and smell. The pure lavender essential oil produced from the distillation is used in the manufacture of the superb Jersey Lavender toiletries - the whole process is explained in a presentation video and a talk by friendly staff. There are natural gardens and woods to wander through, with swings and benches in scenic spots, as well as a National Collection of lavenders, herb beds and a bamboo collection. The Café serves delicious meals and snacks, all made with fresh, local ingredients and the shop is always beautifully stocked with all the products made on the farm, and much more! Jersey Pearl

The largest collection of quality pearl jewellery in the Channel Islands, ranging from the cleverly crafted to the beautifully cultured. In the workshop, crafts people create individual pieces. There are also guided tours, educational displays, pick a pearl, a children's range and Olly's Bistro Restaurant and ice cream parlour. Open from mid February throughout the year.

Jersey Pottery

Located in the picturesque Gorey Village you will find this world renowned pottery that has grown from a cottage industry into a global retailer. All stages of the production are on display, plus a large showroom with over 600 Jersey Pottery lines, unusual gifts, a pottery museum and the do-it-yourself painting studio ‘Glaze Craze’. Enjoy lunch or dinner in one of the award-winning restaurants. In addition to our restaurants, you’ll also find Jersey Pottery Cafés in St Helier’s town centre and their town gift shop in Halkett Place by the Central Market.

Jersey Woollen Mills

Two distinct shopping experiences. The woollen mills specialise in traditional Jersey and Guernsey sweaters, all made from 100% pure oiled wool, and also sell casual clothing and gifts. Fountain jewellery is well known for its excellent choice of gold, silver, precious and semi-precious jewellery and watches. Open from mid-February the complex also has a licensed tea room.

La Mare Wine Estate

La Mare Wine Estate is the ideal place to experience the real taste of Genuine Jersey. Enjoy a stroll through the vineyards, orchards and beautiful gardens before joining a guided tour of the estate winery where you will taste La Mare’s Jersey wines during an informative audio-visual show. You will also visit the new cognac style distillery and discover the traditional art of distilling and oak ageing of the famous Jersey Apple Brandy. Finally, Then is on to the Chocolate Factory where La Mare’s own Chocolateire makes a delicious range of hand made luxury Chocolates. The Vineyard Restaurant & Terrace is located in a beautiful oak and glass building overlooking the rows of vines and is the most perfect place to relax and enjoy a delicious lunch or freshly made Jersey Cream Tea. New for 2008 is La Mare Picque Nique’s where you can pre-order a picnic and find your own idyllic spot amount the vines or orchards to enjoy it. The Estate also produces a wonderful range of Jersey Black Butter, preserves, mustards and delicious fudge, all ‘genuine Jersey’ and hand-made and available in the estate shop. Children will love the Chocolate factory, enjoy meeting the miniature ponies ‘Bubbles’ and ‘Fizz’ and the resident cheeky but loveable goat called Barney.

The Pottery at Belvedere Terrace

Featuring a large ground floor gallery stocking over 300 pieces of unique hand-thrown stoneware pottery, designed and produced by American potter, Theresa Robinson. Theresa has been producing a large and varied range of functional pots, as well as one-off pieces in her Jersey studio 1999 and is also a visiting lecturer at the local Art College. She has exhibited her pots extensively in Jersey, and also the UK and USA. A visit to the studio is a must for anyone who appreciates genuine hand thrown pottery.
