Cookery School

The Boathouse Cookery School
The Boat House has a stunning location, situated on the harbour’s edge just inches from picturesque village of St Aubin. Set at the Western end of this spectacular crescent shaped St Aubins Bay, this brand new, two storey, glass and timber building with large terraced areas has terrific views of the sea, harbour, and boats. It is an amazing place to spend time with friends and enjoy fine cuisine.
The course gives you a chance to experience 'hands-on' cooking and an informative tutorial with Chef John Benson-Smith, who until recently ran a Cookery School in North Yorkshire for 9 years. John’s wealth of experience includes judging on BBC's Masterchef and being Consultant Executive Chef to Manchester City Football Club for four years. John is also a Gold Medal winner and former Chef of the Year.

The day commences mid-morning for coffee and a nice bite, this is a time for you to meet your fellow participants for the day. You will be issued with your Boat House aprons (which you get to keep at the end of the day) and be introduced to John Benson-Smith.
The classes are held in the first floor kitchen, overlooking the entire harbour and whole of St Aubin's bay through the huge glass windows. Your time will be serious, yet light-hearted, with John sharing lots of professional do's and don'ts that will ultimately make you a more confident cook. All the recipes are cupboard friendly.
Participants will sit down to a well deserved glass of champagne followed by a simple two course luncheon before reconvening for an afternoon of cooking with fun and involvement (as much or as little as you feel willing to give).
The day comes to a close with a much needed cup of coffee or tea, where you will be given recipes for all the dishes cooked on the day.
