Freshwater Fishing
Whilst there are no rivers in Jersey and scarcely any streams, there are stretches of still water that hold surprisingly good stocks of fish.
Trout Fishing
Val de la Mare, Grands Vaux and Queens Valley reservoirs are fly-only waters well stocked with rainbows and browns. The season is from mid-April through to end-October. Day tickets cost approximately £20.00 or weekly tickets cost approximately £80.00.
Coarse Fishing
Coarse anglers are able to fish at Dannemarche and Millbrook Reservoirs in Waterworks Valley, St Catherine's reservoir at the edge of Rozel Woods plus the South Canal near St Ouen's Bay. There are no pike, catfish, zander or other large predators but you will find plenty of stocks of bream, tench, roach, perch, common carp, rudd and common eels. The season runs from 1st June to 31st March. Day tickets cost approximately £5.00 or weekly tickets cost approximately £25.00.
Both forms of freshwater angling are taken seriously in Jersey and th Jersey match team takes part in national and international competitions. Local matches are also fished during the season.
