Classic & Vintage Motor Racing Club of Jersey Limited

Formed around seven years ago, the Classic and Vintage Motor Racing Club brought together a group of enthusiasts who wanted a new outlook on old cars and bikes. Many had been racing for years and were disillusioned with the lack of appreciation for their older machines.
Around a year later they started what is now an established event in the island motor sports calendar the “Greve De Lecq” hill climb. An event designed for competitors with vehicles produced up to 1976 only. This was a two-day event with the first day traditionally a Friday being a quarter mile sprint on the Five Mile Road at beautiful St Ouens bay. Over the years the event has grown in size and attracted competitors from both Europe and the UK and is now run over three days with one sprint and two full days of hill climbing, something virtually unheard of. This is a family event giving people the opportunity to see cars and motorcycles from a bygone age racing against the clock in a beautiful setting in two of Jerseys most beautiful settings. The secure open pit area also allows enthusiasts the opportunity to see these beautiful and often-rare machines up close and also chat to the drivers and riders who pilot these classics. Traditionally held at the end of August the island weather is usually kind and viewing is easily accessible. Should you be here in July the club hosts the biggest car show on the island with virtually all the islands garages taking part and representatives from every major car and bike club in Jersey displaying their often rare and expensive machines at the RJA & HS show ground at Trinity. There are lots of things for the youngsters, including motorcycle and four wheel drive displays as well as traditional goodies such as Jersey wonders and local ice cream.
