Print a PDF
The London 2012 Olympic torch relay begins on 19 May 2012 at Land's End and ends 70 days later on 27 July at the opening ceremony in the Olympic Stadium. Jersey will be the most southerly stop that the torch makes as part of its trip around the British Isles. The torch convoy will travel from Bel Royal at approximately 12:40, along Jersey's south coast, passing The Freedom Tree sculpture next to the Radisson Blu Hotel, around Liberty Wharf and stopping at Weighbridge Place at approximately 13:10 before finishing on Victoria Avenue alongside Lower Park. Viewers can watch the torch on a giant screen at the Olympic Torch celebrations at Weighbridge Place. There will be food stalls in place and some Olympic themed street theatre to keep everyone amused. Attendance is free.
