Fire Safety Training in the Workplace
Do you or your staff need fire safety training?
Are you comfortable that your employees would know what to do if a fire occurred in your business?
More importantly, are you confident that your staff members know how to prevent fires from occurring in the first place?
The hazards from fire can pose a significant threat to business. Every year many people are injured by fires that occur in the workplace. The financial costs of a fire can be equally devastating. Annually, the cost to businesses through fire runs to many millions of pounds, and companies are all too often unable to recover from
its catastrophic effects.
Jersey Fire & Rescue provides quality fire safety training specifically designed to assist both employers and employees to meet their obligations within current legislation, such as Health and Safety at Work (Jersey) Law 1989 and the Fire Precautions (Jersey) Law 1977.
The Courses
Jersey Fire & Rescue have developed a new suite of fire safety training courses, which aim to provide a greater awareness of the threat posed by fire to people, property and business continuity.
By combining the recognition of individual responsibilities to promptly report fire related hazards and what actions to take should a fire occur, the risks to employees and the workplace will be reduced.
The courses currently offered are:
- Basic Fire Awareness
- Fire Marshal
- Fire Extinguishers
All of the courses are delivered by serving or retired firefighters whose professional understanding of fire development, risk assessment and risk management provides an unrivalled edge to your training experience.
The use of professional firefighters also enables real life incidents to be utilised as examples for discussions.
These courses are supported by the Jersey Safety Council.
