2012 Campaign

What’s it like to live here? Four islanders, featured in our TV commercial, talk about their love of Jersey. Take a peak at their videos for a flavour of what they have to say.

Jersey Tourism’s TV commercial was filmed in September and October 2011.

The commercial was filmed across the Island, in a variety of locations over a period of 7 days, from dawn till dusk. From bobbing around in a boat at 06:30 waiting for daybreak alongside Mont Orgueil Castle, to filming the setting sun and surfers at St Ouen's Bay.

Following on from the 2011 campaign, Nerina Pallot’s involvement has increased and you will see her on the beach at St Ouen. The TV commercial voiceover is provided by Nerina and the instrumental version of ‘Butterfly’ is taken from her album, ‘Year of the Wolf’. Other islanders that feature in the TV commercial include Tour Guide Arthur Lamy, Oyster Farmer and Water Sports Enthusiast Chris Le Masurier, Artist Nicholas Romeril, and two local children are seen running through the grounds of Gorey Castle. All our ‘ambassadors’ are passionate about the island, freeing up time in their busy lives to be involved in the campaign and communicate their enthusiasm about Jersey to a wide ranging audience.

Our ambassadors were chosen not only for their love of the island, but also based on their professions and interests that tie in with key themes that Jersey Tourism promote throughout the year, including heritage and culture, relaxing and high energy activities, local produce and fine living and not forgetting its family offering.

Scenes for the TV commercial were filmed in various parts of the island, including Mont Orgueil Castle, Royal Bay of Grouville, St Ouen’s Bay, Beauport Bay and the cliffpaths above Beauport Bay.
