Jersey Tourism uses TV advertising to create maximum impact and build brand awareness during the post-Christmas holiday decision making period. The 2011 campaign launched on January 10 and has been on air for a total of 16 weeks across the campaign, ending on 17 July.

The proposition of the new 30 second TV commercial revolves around the fact that not only does Jersey have more hours of sunshine than anywhere else in the UK, but based on mean average temperatures provided by Jersey Meteorological Department, is the warmest place in the British Isles. It looks to communicate the emotive qualities associated with ‘warmth’ and ‘sunshine’ by portraying the warmth of the island, but more importantly, the warmth of its people and experiences that the destination can offer.

Nerina Pallot, local singer songwriter, has provided the instrumental version of the soundtrack 'Butterfly', which is featured on her new album ‘Year of the Wolf, released this year. Nerina also features as the voice-over for the TV commercial.

The 30 and 10 second TV commercials have appeared on ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and a host of satellite channels. The 10 second commercials pick up on the core themes of the 30 second TV commercial and build awareness already created by the 30 second ads, to maximise the TV budget throughout the campaign. As a result of the TV campaign, 7,125,800 adults (aged 55+) have seen the commercial 11.8 times.

Jersey life has a way of gently drawing you in. With leafy green lanes named in French. With beaches so special we hide them twice a day. With waters warmed by the gulf stream currents and with more sunshine than anywhere else in the entire British Isles.

You're never more than 3 miles from the sea, and only 14 from France, little wonder the food in Jersey is as mouth watering as it is fresh.
