Attractions

The following list of attractions should be used only as a guide. Guests with special requirements are highly advised to contact the attractions directly to check facilities prior to making a reservation.

Jersey Museum

Lift access to all floors and Audio guide available. Disabled toilets. There is also a café and gift shop within the Museum. Ramps provide access to all areas in the main Museum and wheelchair access to one floor of the Merchant’s House. A hearing loop is available in the audio-visual theatre. Dedicated disabled parking spaces available. Closed from 29th Jan - 2nd February 2007 for general maintenance.

La Hougue Bie

A regular programme of guided tours throughout the season and communication support is available for deaf and hard of hearing visitors on a request basis. Jersey War Tunnels

All the side room displays have enough space for wheelchairs and all cabinet information and displays can easily be viewed. Everything is on the ground floor. A wheelchair is provided if necessary, as it is a long walk. Disabled toilet. Cafeteria is also disabled friendly.

Maritime Museum & Occupation Tapestry Gallery

The Occupation Gallery shares facilities with the Maritime Museum.

Full access with ramps, lift to second floor with Braille control buttons, and two stair lifts to upper levels. Toilet facilities available. Limited parking at the rear of the building. Audio guide and Braille book available for the tapestry. Loop system in certain areas of the Maritime Museum: art gallery on one level, globe, exhibit, television monitors, welk storyteller. Information cupboards and display tables are at wheelchair level.

Maritime museum has studded flooring to indicate change in floor level where appropriate. Dedicated disabled parking spaces – please call in advance. Many of the exhibits have sound elements and may be touched.

Elizabeth Castle

Disabled toilets in parade ground. Access to exhibitions and Castle Mount very limited. Wheelchair users must contact puddleducks in advance to ensure transport (07797 741 301).

Living Legend

The Living Legend is equipped with disabled facilities. A lift is available to take you inside to watch the “special effects” show, a small part of which is inaccessible due to steps.  Restaurant is accessible and disabled toilets are available.  Loop system.

Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust (Jersey Zoo)

Beautifully set in extensive grounds. Good access to view important collection of endangered species. Toilet for the disabled in entrance building and also in the Café Dodo which has ramped access. Some facilities for the visually impaired, although guide dogs are not accepted due to free ranging species and disease. Loop system. Some uneven pathways. A shopmoblity scheme operates at Jersey Zoo.

Fort Regent Leisure Centre

Disabled parking. Access to most activities. A wheelchair map is available. Disabled toilets. Free entry for the disabled.

Eric Young Orchid Foundation

Ramped entrance but all on one level. Some aisles between plants are rather too narrow for wheelchairs.

Battle of Flowers Museum

Suitable for wheelchair users. Steep ramp into the entrance from the car park, and ramp access to all the exhibits. Some steps into the café.

Jersey Lavender Farm

Ramp at the entrance. Suitable for visitors in wheelchairs. Disabled toilet. Wheelchair available if required.

Jersey Pottery

All facilities on the ground floor. All the doors have easy access. Numerous disabled toilets. Very suitable place to visit, with very popular restaurant.

Jersey Pearl

Ramped access throughout. Disabled toilets.

Jersey Goldsmiths

Ramped entrance. All on ground floor. All facilities are easily accessible. Disabled toilets.

Pallot Steam, Motor & General Museum

Free admission for visitors in wheelchairs.  Disabled toilet facilities accessible by ramp. Nearly all museum displays are at ground floor level.

Catherine Best Jewellers & Restaurant

The Channel Islands’ most renowned jewellery designer. Completely disabled friendly.
