Car Parking
Car parking for Blue Badge holders
UK and European Blue Badges entitle disabled drivers to park in designated areas, such as on-street parking zones and in multi-storey car parks. However, they DO NOT permit disabled drivers to park on yellow lines.
Badges are valid for use in Jersey and are available from the Town Hall in St Helier. For a detailed leaflet on disabled parking and restrictions, please contact the Visitor Centre at Jersey Tourism.
Parking for Blue Badge holders is permitted as follows:
- Parking Spaces in Public car parks
Free of charge - no parking scratch cards are required when you display your badge. This applies whether you park in a designated disabled space or not. Disabled spaces are, however, located close to exits or on the ground level.
- Short stay car parks
3 hours maximum, in any parking space in Minden Place, Sand Street, Snow Hill and South Hill car parks using your parking disc clock and badge.
- Long stay car parks
12 hours in every 24 hours in any public off-street parking space using a badge and parking disc clock. This includes the following car parks: The Esplanade, Gas Place, Green Street, Hue Street, Midvale Road, Patriotic Street, People’s Park, Pier Road, and Route du Fort.
- On-street parking, St Helier
Any specifically set-aside disabled parking area may be used for up to a maximum of 4 hours free of charge using a badge and parking disc clock. Exceptions are Lewis Street and Halkett Place (where some spaces are limited to 1 hour only) and Vine Street (weekend parking only).
Parking is permitted for up to 2 hours in the 20 minutes (Yellow) or 1 hour (Red) zones of any non-designated disabled on-street parking area, provided you display a disabled Blue Badge in conjunction with 1 parking scratch card.
Paycards cost 56p per unit and can be purchased from Jersey Tourism, newsagents, garages and supermarkets, but not in the car parks themselves (with the exception of Sand Street car park).
