Chelsea Flower Show

Jersey regularly attends the ultimate event in the gardening calendar, the Chelsea Flower Show. It sets the latest gardening trends, features the newest and most desirable gardening products and creates an explosion of colours and scents.

In 2009, The Jersey Farmers' Union were awarded a gold medal for its display of local produce at the Chelsea Flower show. John Le Maistre from the Jersey Farmers' Union said the team were 'ecstatic'.

John Le Maistre said the team had a sleepless night anticipating what the result would be. He said: "The reaction we have been getting from the stand has been wonderful. It has been an absolute showstopper."

Whilst Jersey has had many participants over the years, such as the Eric Young Orchid Foundation, it was the first time the Jersey Farmers' Union had exhibited at the event and a tremendous amount of work went into the presentation of the Jersey stand.
