Listings for: Public Parks
Howard Davis Park
Address:
Town Centre East, St Helier
The Park was officially handed over as a gift to the people of Jersey by T B Davis in the memory of his son Howard Leopald Davis, who lost his life in action during the First World War. One of the most outstanding features is, without doubt, the sprawling lawn with its graceful curves and backdrop of splendid trees as well as the walled-in rose gardens in which are planted over 1,600 roses in about 80 varieties. Many of the plants and trees now grown in the park come from as far a field as Australia and New Zealand and thrive in our very mild climate.
Les Creux Country Park
Address:
La Route Orange, St Brelade
This park gives visitors the opportunity to experience a special part of Jersey’s rich, natural beauty. A stunning mix of trails, paths and walks traverse a variety of environments from cliff-top paths with breath-taking views through verdant woodland and past arable fields.
Coronation Park (or Millbrook Park)
Address:
Coronation Park, Millbrook, St Lawrence
One of the Island’s most delightful parks, it was previously voted Best Public Park in the British Isles. Also known locally as ‘Millbrook Park’, this is a popular location for families as it boasts a children’s playground, paddling pool and Victorian shelter. The park is home to a large array of plants and manicured lawns and was gifted to the people of Jersey from Lady Trent (wife of Lord Trent - Jessie Boot of Boot's the Chemist fame)
Les Jardins de la Mer
Address:
The Waterfront, St Helier
Forming part of the newly created Waterfront Area, the gardens boast uninterrupted views across St Aubin’s Bay. The centrepiece is a circular water maze, made up of walls of water from jets of varying heights, which rise and fall intermittently creating pathways. In addition, sculptor Philip Jackson has created a magnificent sculpture of swimmers and dolphins. The gardens are divided into a number of areas at different levels, including maritime woodland, a rockery, shingle beds and extensive lawns.
