Being surrounded by the sea and having a rich heritage offers us the chance for some excellent freebies. Try one!

Here are a few activities that you can experience free of charge.


• A number of self-guided walks are available from our Walking pages see www.jersey.com/walking


• Walk the ramparts of Fort Regent for a birds eye view of St Helier


• The National Trust for Jersey offers free year round guided walks, their Stepping Out Programme includes various themed walks with knowledgeable local guides. www.nationaltrustjersey.org.je


• Cycling in the Green Lanes, where the speed limit is 15mph and priority is given to cyclists. Download a self-guided route for free. www.jersey.com/cycling


• Rock pooling


• Sea swimming and snorkeling in Jersey’s many sheltered bays


• Pier jumping


• Body surfing at St. Ouen’s


• Beach volleyball


• Picnic in a secluded bay


• Beach cricket and Frisbee on the beach

• Bird watching (at St Ouen’s Pond or St Catherine’s Woods)
