Catch the festival fever

Throughout the year Jersey plays host to an amazing variety of festivals and events.

One-stop Shops

For stylish shopping, all under one roof, go no further than St Helier’s two department stores, de Gruchy and Voisins.

You can’t miss Jersey’s two historic department stores, with their white facades, antique arcades and striking window displays. They’re St Helier landmarks and have been trading for around 200 years, but you’ll find that hard to believe when you take a look inside. Both recently renovated, they’ve turned into sleek, light spaces, filled with the very latest fashion, homeware, beauty and electrical products – in short, they’re a shopper’s dream.

Look out for de Gruchy’s bright and white cosmetics hall, filled with the best beauty brands and a huge selection of perfumes from the latest bestsellers to exclusive fragrances from the world’s finest perfume makers. As well as the latest fashions for women, there’s also a brand new luxury menswear department where you’ll find designer looks from Ralph Lauren and Hugo Boss.

Voisins has recently had a stunning renovation, turning the first floor into a showcase for the hottest womenswear designers of the moment, including Diane von Furstenberg, Ralph Lauren and Mulberry, and a shop-in-shop ‘World of Tommy Hilfiger’ concept. And for trendy (very) young things, there’s a designer kids’ section with the latest labels for little ones.

And don’t worry about taking a break, there are plenty of restaurants and cafes in Voisins and de Gruchy, so you can sit and enjoy a cappuccino or a leisurely brunch before you get back to more shopping. There’s even a hair and beauty salon in de Gruchy and a nail salon in Voisins, where you can rest your shopping bags while you get a complete makeover.
