Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall visits Jersey

Their Royal Highnesses, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will visit Jersey and stay at Government House. 

During the visit they will carry out the following engagements:

  • visit Grainville School.  Tour and open Phase 1V of the re-development of the school, meet staff and students including student members from the Army Cadet Force, The Prince’s Trust  and the Horizon Programme
  • attend a special sitting of the States of Jersey to be held outside in the Royal Square including a Loyal Address to be made by Sir Michael Birt, Bailiff of Jersey.  This will be followed by the unveiling of a special permanent granite feature in the Royal Square to commemorate Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.  Their Royal Highnesses will view the VEGA commemorative feature in the Royal Square, meet members of the public and they will unveil the specially commissioned States of Jersey art work of the Thames Diamond Jubilee River Pageant
  • visit the Central Market to meet stall holders and members of the public
  • visit the Royal Jersey Agricultural and Horticultural Society Headquarters, Trinity, to view displays from Jersey’s horticultural and agricultural sectors. The visit will include meeting community representatives and parishioners from the 12 Parishes and meeting representatives from the organisations who have received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service
  • His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales will visit 16 New Street, to tour the restored property as patron of the National Trust
  • His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales will visit the Town Church to view the restoration work carried out to the interior and exterior of the building
  • Their Royal Highnesses will attend an official dinner at Samares Manor hosted by Sir Michael Birt, Bailiff of Jersey
