Jersey makes every effort to cater for disabled visitors, from accessible buses and taxis to accommodation specifically aimed at catering for disabled visitors at Maison des Landes. Initiatives like Wetwheels, a powerboat adapted for disabled users and Beachability, a charity that hires wheelchairs specially designed for beach use, enable visitors to enjoy the island in all its beauty. Shopmobility scooters are available at St Helier’s Sand Street car park, and the island has a wide variety of disabled parking spaces and zones for Blue Badge holders.

Whilst you're here

Wetwheels Jersey is Jersey’s first fully disabled-friendly power boat, allowing disabled islanders and visitors to experience the thrill of being out at sea on a safe and modern vessel.

Shopmobility is a scheme widely available in the UK where visitors can use powered wheelchairs or scooters to enable them to visit shops and places of interest. All equipment can be delivered to hotels / homes without charge for overnight usage.

BeachAbility is a Jersey charity set up in 2013, to provide specially designed manual, ballooned wheel chairs for use on the beach and other rough terrain. The chairs roll over sand, stones and slipways with ease and are available for residents and anyone visiting Jersey that needs help with their mobility.
