Jersey Beaches beaches in the north of the island vj-share-icon It’s been said that the same irresistible pull that draws sea to shore echoes in us, drawing us to the sea. It’s instinctive. On Jersey you’re never more than ten minutes from the water’s edge, so it’s easy to find quiet spaces to revitalise and recharge, from gorse-clad coastlines and grassy sand dunes to sweeping bays that change shape as the tide rises. An island in tune with nature, where you can feel refreshed and rebalanced in the fresh sea air. Explore Jersey's breathtaking bays in the north of the island. Beaches in the north Plémont Overview Plémont is a sandy cove on the north west tip of the island flanked by soaring cliffs and pitted with caves and rock pools. Plémont is a firm local favourite, sheltered by tall cliffs and washed by gentle surf. Low tide reveals hidden caves for a fresh adventure and young ones can explore rocky pools with sandy bottoms. Check the tides before journeying to Plémont to time your beach adventure just right. At high tide the sand is covered, and locals move up to the rocks where the RNLI lifeguards watch over the beach all summer. Parking Limited parking in the lower car park, at the top of the steps which lead down to the beach past the café. Ample parking in the top car park by the bus stop. There are a number of steps that lead down to sea level, but it is well worth the walk. Buses Route No. 8 runs up through St. Peter's Valley from St. Helier. Toilets There are public toilets close to the café at the top of beach steps. Bathing safety There is safe bathing when the sea is calm, but only for the strongest of swimmers when an Atlantic swell brings breakers rolling in. Lifeguards are located at Plémont during the summer months. Disabled access Sadly due to its location there is no disabled access to the beach, café or toilets. Please note Dogs must be kept on a lead between the hours of 10:00 – 18:00 between May and September, outside of this time dogs are free to roam the beaches, however please remember to pick up after your dog, and leave nothing behind but your footprints.
