Honeymoons start earlier in Jersey.

A wee island break before you walk the aisle.

We invited everyone’s favourite Kilted Yogis, newly engaged Finlay Wilson and Alan Lambie to the island break for a romantic ‘early moon’ escape. The tartan love-birds held hands on secluded bays, shucked oysters over dreamy views, and got a bit steamy in a luxury spa. Find out what the smitten pair got up to before tying the knot....

We’ve created the ultimate hitlist to create your perfect early moon in Jersey.

1. FIND YOUR ROOM WITH A VA-VA-VOOM.

Find your perfect romantic stay to close off from the world. Finlay and Alan just loved their room at St. Brelade’s Bay Hotel, complete with a private balcony to toast some bubbles with sea views over the third most popular beach in the UK (Thanks to the Tripadvisor’s Travellers Choice Awards) , If you’re looking for romance, the bay’s beautiful clear waters are perfect for a paddle and the soft white sand is begging to be walked on with a special someone.

2. SPOIL YOURSELVES ROTTEN (BECAUSE YOU CAN).

OK so you’re probably counting calories to fit into that dress or suit? This is an early moon so normal rules don’t apply - you’ve plenty of time to watch that waistline. Treat yourselves with a creamy Jersey Afternoon Tea with lashings of rich Jersey butter then walk it off with a breezy beach walk where, we think you’ll find, love is in the sea air.

TREAT YOURSELVES ...

3. FIND HOT TUB HEAVEN.

Sometimes you’ve just got to turn the heat up with a steamy spa experience. Feel shiny and new with holistic couples treatments to heal the mind, body and soul. Perfect after a hard day’s… exploring. :)

4. DRESS TO IMPRESS (EACH OTHER).

There’s nothing more fun than getting dressed up for each other for a big night out. Once you’ve picked out your wardrobe, all you have left to decide is where you want to explore first - beach side restaurants, speakeasy cocktail bars, or maybe a cosy country pub? Best enjoyed in each other’s company, obvs.

5. TRY THE FOOD OF LOVE.

There are few places in the world that do romantic dining like Jersey. Finlay and Alan chose to dine at the Oyster Box gazing over the midnight blue waters of St Brelade's Bay, where they shared a fruit de mer with Jersey lobster caught just that morning from local waters. (You never know, it might just start singing ‘Kiss the girl’!)

6. WALK HAND IN HAND.

Sometimes all you need is a hand to hold, a beach to walk on and a special person to share it with. Take a romantic stroll on a starry night in the fresh sea air or savour a leafy walk through wooded valleys. Remember, cold weather is just an excuse to get a little bit closer.

7. SMASH YOUR COUPLES GOALS.

We all know about couples goals. In Jersey, you can take them to new heights by taking on a new challenge together. Take Finlay and Alan, they took their yoga to the water with a SUP Yoga session with Absolute Adventures. It wasn’t their first rodeo, so it wasn’t long before they perfected the art of balancing on a board in the sunshine. Sensibly, they left their kilts at home.

8. SERENADE EACH OTHER.

Ain’t no party like a couples karaoke party! Finlay and Alan took their lip synch battle on the water with Jersey Seafaris. We figure, even if singing in tune isn’t your strong point, then it doesn’t matter as the sounds of the waves beside you will make you sound FAB..!

THE SOUND OF THE WAVES ...

9. SEE THE SIGHTS.

Finlay and Alan may have seen some of Jersey’s most epic spots on their last kilted yoga tour, but that didn’t stop them from venturing back out to Corbière Lighthouse and the caves of Plèmont Bay. Finlay said 'most of the places we have visited, we have been two of the only people there, so we walk hand in hand, talk, sign, and gabble to each other. P.S. it's super romantic.'

10. SIMPLY TO BE TOGETHER.

Finlay and Alan had this to say about their early moon in the island break - ‘We have rested, laughed, eaten well from so many local places, sped across the open sea, jumped in to the crystal clear waters, but most importantly, we have spent quality time together forging our bond even tighter. We have written Jersey into our story, and we are so grateful for it.'
