Jersey Event Guide

Be inspired, be challenged, be adventurous

Jersey is an events destination like no other, small on size but big on personality. Where else can you be a hair away from the starting pistol of an international race and follow the action to the finish line for sundowners in an afternoon? Follow the action from land, beach, coast and sea and discover an island alive with possibility. Whether you are a culture vulture, history buff, adrenaline junkie or just want to get your dancing shoes on; we’ll keep you entertained.

On your marks...

Get set, go

Start with sandy beaches washed by the one of the greatest tidal ranges in the world, add a landscape of steep climbs, sand dunes and coastal footpaths, and you get Jersey - a backdrop for almost any adventure sports events experience you can think of.

From the Round the Rock to Super League Triathlon, the Breca Swimrun and the Jersey Marathon amongst many others; test your limits in, on and around the shores of Jersey.

If spectating from the side-line is more of your thing, why not enjoy the atmosphere at the Jersey Reds, our championship league rugby team, or the Jersey Bulls, English Football's newest and most southernly club? There's fun for all the family.

Celebrate freedom

Liberate your soul

Discover an island that wears the traces of its colourful past and join us to celebrate the Liberation of Jersey. The five-year Occupation during WW2 came to an end on 9 May 1945, an event still celebrated in Jersey with an annual Bank Holiday.

Join in the celebrations; amidst food stalls, an atmosphere of red, white and blue festivities, and the screening of war-time footage, come down to Weighbridge Place and enjoy the sounds of the era. 2020 will mark a special celebration for the island with the 75th anniversary.

Unique traditions

A taste of island life

To experience Jersey’s authentic culture, discover our cultural events and take part in real Jersey traditions and experiences.

Embrace the carnival atmosphere of the Battle of Flowers and watch island parishes and teams compete for the best-dressed flower float in this iconic seaside parade, dating back to 1902. Why not go behind the scenes and lend a hand making the floats?

Immersive yourself in the ancient art of making Black Butter at Jersey’s annual Black Butter Making event. Hosted by the Jersey National Trust, the event is a real community affair and it is free.

Get creative

Art for everyone

Go Wild Gorillas is a wild and wonderful sculpture trail around the island break to celebrate Jersey Zoo’s 60th anniversary and raise important funds to help care for its family of western lowland gorillas. Say goodbye to the Gorillas at Jersey Zoo on 1 - 4 November.

Festival of Wordsinvites you experience a literary festival celebrating a love of the written and spoken word across the community and in a variety of styles and settings.

Open year-round with a comprehensive programme of events, exhibitions and workshops, get creative at The Harbour Gallery.
