Shopping in Jersey

Liberate your spirit and shop until you drop

Shopping in Jersey doesn’t have to mean only the standard high street favourites or department stores. We’ve got those too, of course, but venture further and you’ll discover shops and markets to while away the hours.

The Heart of St Helier

Feel the French influence as you discover the island’s capital. Charming and compact, everything is within easy reach. Whether it’s designer collections, leading labels, or eclectic or eccentric, spend an afternoon exploring St. Helier’s crisscross of shopping streets and nearby mall Liberty Wharf. Rest your feet and stop off in a nearby café for a quick espresso, or enjoy a glass of wine over a leisurely lunch.

Quirky finds

For quirky finds, head around the bay to St. Aubin where antique shops and art galleries offer plenty of treasure-hunting opportunities.  Spend some time browsing at The Harbour Gallery in St. Aubin and take home some unique art or local photography.

The Central Markets

The Central Market has long been a source of pride to the island’s community. The 36 market stalls cover almost every retail experience – everything from antiques to flowers, fresh vegetables to jewellery. If you can’t find what you want here, then you have to ask the question: do you really need it? The more modern Beresford Market, or Fish Market as it is more commonly known to locals, is justly popular for its high-quality produce and the atmosphere generated by its hard-working fishmongers.

Jersey Farmers' Markets

Stock up on local treats from island producers or uncover vintage finds, Farm & Craft Markets on selected Saturdays through the season, 9-3pm and St. Aubin’s Vintage Fair, on selected Saturdays, 9-5pm. Whether picking up local farm produce for your picnic or a unique souvenir to take home from one of the craft workers, pop along and soak up the atmosphere. Wander round the beautifully decorated stalls at your leisure and discover fresh organic produce to homemade preserves and locally hand crafted accessories.  See the village come to life with a collection of open-air stalls and street entertainment around the Parish Hall’s central square.

Off the beaten track

Some of Jersey’s shopping locations are destinations in their own right, and make ideal places to spend an afternoon, with gardens to wander through and restaurants and cafés where you can relax over lunch or a Jersey cream tea. Venture off the beaten track and explore some of the island’s specialist shops and boutiques, from our famous farm stalls to exclusive jewellers and our very own vineyard.
