What to do on a rainy day

On the odd occasion when we do get a little rain :)

Jersey is known as the warmest place in the British Isles, however, it’s important to remember that we are still in the British Isles! So we do on occasion get a little rain, but you shouldn’t let that dampen your spirit, we’ve still got plenty for you to see and do!

Eric Young Orchid Foundation

A unique centre dedicated to orchids and proud Chelsea Flower Show gold medallists. Eric Young Orchid Foundation is the perfect all weather/all season attraction. Admire the sheer diversity of this most extravagant and flamboyant of all flowers in a purpose built display facility. Stroll through the beautiful gardens, enjoy a drink, or bring a picnic and relax. Born in 1911, Eric Young was truly one of the great orchidists of his time, and was widely respected and honoured throughout the international orchid community.

Keep yourself occupied

Discover a story you will never forget at the Jersey War Tunnels. Discover the true story of life in Jersey during the German occupation. The hardship, the heartache and the heroism, in the words of the people who were there. An immersive experience best suited to slightly older children 7+.

Release your creativity

At the Love Bird shop and Nest Art Studio you can experience the joy of expression by choosing your medium and turning it into something that says more than words ever will. The young, old and those in between will have great fun transforming paints, ceramics or textiles into works of art that speak from the heart.

Get wet

Sometimes it isn’t the weather that’s the problem but what you’re wearing! Bring your waterproofs and wellies and head to St. Catherine’s woods where the trees will act as your natural umbrella as you release your inner child, splashing about the streams and jumping across the stepping stones.

Get interactive …

The Maritime Museum, located near Jersey’s marina, is a great way to spend a couple of nautical hours. See, touch, hear and even smell the exhibits, listen to giant whelks tell fishy tales, learn how to design and float a ship, and let the museum really bring Jersey’s maritime past to life!

Get all artistic

Discover the Harbour Gallery located in the picturesque harbour village of St. Aubin, enjoy the ambience of a working gallery, as you wander through the various exhibitions hosted here throughout the year. And don't miss homemade treats available from the café, on the top floor...

Learn a little something

Quench your thirst

The comfort of a warm welcome, and a little tipple while escaping a shower or two is one of those holiday perks, which gives you the perfect excuse to enjoy each other’s company and let the world pass you by, which is even more rewarding when you also get to enjoy a sea side view!

Get your bounce on.
