Jersey with its range of beaches, bays and cliff walks has a sea view to suit every mood. Try our suggestions and find some of your own on a relaxing trip to Jersey. L'ETACQ TO GROSNEZ Set off for a bracing walk along one of Jersey’s more exposed coasts - at Jersey’s northwestern corner and the fresh salt air that blows straight in from the Atlantic will make you feel instantly revived. Start at L’Etacq at the far right-hand side of St. Ouen’s Bay and follow the signs for the cliff path to Grosnez. A rugged gorse-edged path leads you through flower-filled coastal heathland to reach Le Pinacle, a tall standing rock, and further on to World War II bunkers and the ruins of Grosnez castle. Gaze out to sea, spot the other Channel Islands in the distance and feel refreshed in the cool salt breeze. ST. HELIER TO ST. AUBIN Exercising by the sea gives a natural boost to the positive mental effects of a run, cycle or brisk walk. This 5 km promenade walk which along the coast from St. Helier to St. Aubin is a popular route for runners and cyclists - stay on the granite paving or dip down onto the beach at low tide, it’s up to you. You’ll pass catamarans, beach cafes, Martello towers, German bunkers and St. Aubin’s fort, and there are plenty of opportunities to refuel at St. Aubin before catching the bus back to St. Helier. ST. CATHERINE'S BAY TO GOREY Follow these shoreline paths along Jersey’s picturesque east coast and discover hidden bays and beaches where you can stop for a while and enjoy the calm views. The coastal walk from St. Catherine’s Bay takes you past the quiet bay at Archirondel where a beach café overlooks an 18th century red and white tower, and then along the beach at Ann Port, past Geoffrey’s Leap and hugs the coast as it climbs to end at Gorey Village, where walkers can take a break at one of the village cafés. ST. BRELADE'S BAY When it’s time to reflect, the sheltered arc of St Brelade’s Bay offers plenty of opportunities for a calm stroll along the flat sands and pine trees of the headland. Walk out to the pier in the beach’s western corner and look back over the beach, walk the promenade or at low tide, follow the water’s edge around to Ouaisne and its nature reserve and the jutting headland of La Cotte, and breathe in the fresh sea air of this unspoilt landscape.
