Day 1

Uncover Bergerac magic around every corner in St. Helier

Step right into the heart of the Bergerac action by starting your long weekend in St. Helier. Visit The Royal Square, wander over to the Central Market to sample some of Jersey’s freshest produce, step back in time at Jersey Museum, then round off the day at The Lido at Havre des Pas, the Edwardian saltwater pool that quietly steals a scene or two in Series two.

Today is a perfect mix of history, culture, action – and a generous dash of TV magic. What more could you ask for?

Stops
1

Step into Bergerac's world

Start your Bergerac weekend right in the heart of St. Helier, Jersey’s bustling capital. Take a leisurely stroll through the town centre and stop by The Royal Square, the scene of the unforgettable bag-drop chase from the first series. Here, you’ll be surrounded by stunning architecture and the impressive Royal Court building, perfect for kicking off your Bergerac experience.

2

Stop, shop and stroll through the Central Market

Next, wander over to the Central Market, another key filming location and a must-visit if you want to get a real taste of the island. Bergerac might not have had time to stop and chat to the friendly stall holders, but you should. And why not pick up some fresh fruit, a coffee and a pastry to fuel your day? You are on holiday after all.

If you love the vibe of the Central Market, head back after hours and dine at Casa Paco or Tavola. Advance bookings are highly recommended.

3

Lose yourself in Jersey’s history

A key scene in Bergerac was shot at historic local boys’ school Victoria College, whose foundation stone was laid on Queen Victoria’s Birthday in 1850. While the school isn’t open to visitors, head along to the Jersey Museum instead, which is free to enter, and learn about the island’s fascinating 250,000 year history, from ancient times to World War II.

4

Wind down at The Lido

Make your way down to Havre des Pas, where the Edwardian seawater Lido sits at the eastern edge of town. It’s a much-loved local spot in any season, and Series two viewers will recognise it from a memorable going-away party scene. Dive in for a dip if you’re so inclined, settle in with a coffee and a slice of cake at the kiosk, or simply take in the salt-air calm after a busy day.

Day 2

Go north and uncover what Jersey has to offer

Get ready to explore Jersey’s rugged northern coast, with brand-new series two sights to add to the list. See if you can spot the famous pier from episode two of series one, then push west to the windswept ruins at Grosnez, where Jim cuts a moody figure on the clifftops in Series two. Take it slow and get lost in the island’s charming green lanes as you make your way around.

Once you’ve arrived, stretch your legs with a coastal walk, taking in the jaw-dropping scenery, then unwind at one of the northern pubs for a drink.

Stops
1

Investigate Jersey’s north coast

Let your curiosity take you through Jersey’s winding green lanes, where you’ll discover fields of Jersey cows, breathtaking views, and the island’s charming country roads.

End up at Bouley Bay, the spot where we find out who took baby Lily (cue dramatic music). Here you can try your hand at scuba diving or snorkelling, or just enjoy an invigorating sea swim. It’s a popular spot with local swim groups. If you’d prefer to stay firmly on dry land, simply take a walk along the island’s dramatic northern coastal path. Come rain or shine, it’s an unmissable experience.

2

Stand on the edge at Grosnez

Head west across the top of the island to Grosnez, where the ruins of a 14th-century castle perch on the very edge of the cliffs. It’s one of Jersey’s most dramatic spots, and the location chose itself for series two (the views alone tell you why). On a clear day you can pick out Sark, Herm and Guernsey across the water. Bring a windproof jacket – it’s bracing up here!

3

Pull up a barstool

While you’re up north, stop into one of Jersey’s northern parish pubs like St. Mary’s Country Inn, Les Fontaines Tavern or Trinity Arms. Grab a drink, chat with the locals, or stick around for a classic pub dinner. You never know what kind of mystery you’ll uncover over a local ale.

Day 3

Photos worthy of the ‘gram

Take a trip to the west where views for days await. Start at Noirmont Point, swing into pretty St. Aubin for a pit-stop with a side of TV nostalgia, then continue to the iconic St. Brelade’s Bay, a must-see spot for Bergerac fans old and new.

From there, head to St. Ouen’s Bay, where the endless stretch of golden, sandy beach is practically begging for an Instagram moment. Wind down your day and refuel at one of the fantastic restaurants along the bay. After all that exploring, you’ll have worked up an appetite.

Stops
1

Pretend you’re Bergerac himself

Time to hit the west side of Jersey. Start the day by stopping off at Noirmont Point where you’ll be treated to stunning views of St. Aubin’s Bay, along with World War II command bunkers you can explore. Then continue to St. Brelade’s Bay, one of the island’s most popular beaches, with golden sands and activities for everyone.

Series one fans will recognise it as the hotel where Arthur and Julien Wakefield move to after baby Lily’s mysterious disappearance. And for Series two viewers, Jim Bergerac finds himself drawn back to this pale-sanded stretch more than once.

2

A pit-stop in St. Aubin

Drop down into St. Aubin’s Village and step inside The Old Court House. Original Bergerac fans will know it as ‘The Royal Barge’, Jim’s favourite haunt back in the 1980s. In series two it’s been reimagined as Tomassi’s, the restaurant where Jim shares a tender father-daughter scene with Kim. Settle in for a pint or a long lunch, and enjoy harbour views that feel like a film set even when the cameras are away.

3

A stroll along St. Ouen's Bay

Once you’ve explored St. Aubin, head to St. Ouen’s Bay. Stroll along the beach which goes on for miles and miles. Here you’ll get THE opportunity you’ve been waiting for to recreate the iconic Bergerac photo from Series one in front of La Rocco Tower.

If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, get involved in some of the island’s most popular activities which include kite surfing, windsurfing or trying to catch a wave on a surf or body-board.

Continue up the bay to La Pulente where you’ll spot the beachside building that acted as ‘The Jersey Club’ in series one. If you’re feeling energetic, walk along the cliff path which leads you to our famous La Corbière Lighthouse. In the summer months, grab a delicious Jersey ice cream from the ‘legend-dairy’ kiosk overlooking the lighthouse.

4

Supper on the sand

When it’s time to refuel, you’re in luck. The bay is lined with some incredible restaurants from top to bottom. Or, if you can’t bear to leave the beach, grab a BBQ and sizzle up some sausages as the sun sets.

Day 4

The icing on the cake for Bergerac fans

On your last day, go east to explore some of Jersey’s hidden gems that old-school Bergerac fans will recognise, and discover the corner of the island that lead actor Damien Molony has called his home base while filming both series.

Start with a peaceful stroll around Queen’s Valley Reservoir, a perfect spot to unwind, before heading to Archirondel Bay, where you can dine at a popular coastal café. To end your trip, take some time to visit Gorey, a charming fishing harbour set against the backdrop of Mont Orgueil, a magnificent medieval castle that has stood watch over the island for centuries.

It’s the grand finale you’ve been waiting for, full of history, stunning views, and a healthy dose of TV nostalgia.

Stops
1

A blast from the past

Who could forget the classic Bergerac that ran for nine seasons in the ’80s? Start your morning at Queen’s Valley Reservoir, once Bergerac’s home base, now a peaceful reservoir perfect for a leisurely morning stroll.

2

Channel your inner Damien

After your morning walk, check out Archirondel Bay, a spot that lead actor Damien Molony and his family loved to visit while he was filming on island. A sheltered, pebbly beach that gives way to sandy shores as the tide drops, it’s the perfect place to lounge and soak up the sun. Take a dip in the calm waters, give skimming stones a go, or hunt for hidden rock pools at low tide.

Hungry? Pop into the popular Driftwood Café for local seafood and beachside classics. An important scene takes place here in Series one!

3

Spend the rest of the day in Gorey, taking a stroll down the pier. As you wander, you’ll pass a variety of restaurants, bars and cafés lining the streets. Walk up to Mont Orgueil, which was used frequently as a backdrop to many Bergerac scenes in the original series. It’s also one of the most fascinating places to explore, packed with history and stunning views that stretch all the way to France on a clear day.

What are you waiting for? Grab your shades, channel your inner detective, and experience Jersey like never before.
