Stick the Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon firmly into your race calendar. As an island that’s small on size, but big on personality – expect a course with breathtaking vistas and friendly locals. With an epic backdrop that takes in rugged coast, wooded lanes and iconic Jersey landmarks, when you cross the finish line you’ll feel like a champion.

COURSE HIGHLIGHTS.

The race itself is well known for its varied and scenic course, which allows runners to discover a range of breath-taking island panoramas. The certified course passes through seven parishes on the island, ensuring runners experience dramatic coastlines including the iconic La Corbière Lighthouse, leafy country lanes where you’ll spot our Jersey cows and their lush lashes, the harbour-side village of St. Aubin and the Jersey’s capital St. Helier for the start and finish.

FOLLOW THE ROUTE

STRESS LESS, RUN MORE.

Jersey is extremely easy to reach from the UK, with over 30 regional airports flying to the island on a daily basis. With a flight time of less than 1 hours and an array of accommodation options, many of which are located close to the race start and finish area in St. Helier, running in the Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon is entirely stress free. Collapse into your hotel room and run that bath within 5 minutes of crossing the finishing line… bliss.

WARM UP IN THE ISLAND BREAK.

As the most southerly of the Channel Islands, Jersey’s climate is relatively mild - our weather is similar to the south coast of Britain but often slightly warmer and sunnier. In October temperatures are mild and pleasant (around 16c) – perfect marathon running conditions.

BRING YOUR FRIENDS.

The Marathon is the ideal event for a family or group trip – with over 50% of participants coming from overseas. The race is split into three categories, Marathon, Relay Race, with 5-11K legs, and 3K Fun Run, so whether you are new to running or an elite athlete the event offers something for all. The Relay is particularly fun for teams of family, colleagues and running clubs – and is known for its teamwork and healthy competitiveness.

TRAIN HARD, RACE EASY.

A runner who uses the summer months to prepare properly for the 26.2 mile test is promised a brilliant reward. Train hard, race easy as the saying goes.  With a six mile gentle climb through the leafy Waterworks Valley, choose a marathon programme that works for you and don’t forget to include hill training!

ALL FOR A GOOD CAUSE.

Build in motivation and run for a good cause. All funds raised by runners will be split equally between the 2019 local chosen charity the JSPCA, to prevent cruelty for animals, and Standard Chartered’s own global initiative Futuremakers, a global initiative to tackle inequality and promote greater economic inclusion for young people.
