About

Jersey Turbot is a family-run company founded in 2000. Dave Cowburn worked as a deep-sea trawler fisherman for many years but changed to turbot farming because of the difficulties of the market. Jersey Turbot is based in a bunker and gun emplacement built by German occupying forces during the Second World War. The bunker houses about 6,500 turbot at any one time in large tanks filled with sea water, from tiny 50p-sized fish weighing five grams to four-year-old turbot weighing around three pound.
