Steep cliffs, clad in gorse and bracken, overlook perfect hidden bays and inlets, while an uninterrupted coastal path climbs and dips, roller-coaster like, its entire length. Little wonder it’s where you’ll find some of the finest walking in Jersey.

Route 1

St. Mary's northern loop.

Despite appearances to the contrary, St. Mary is not the smallest of Jersey’s parishes by area, but due to its small size and rural nature, it’s by far one of the quietest. The north boundary is the sea, with magnificent wild cliffs, which are a riot of colour in spring and early summer. Finish and start at St. Mary’s Country Inn for some well-earned refreshment – the pub has a reputation for excellent food and ale.
