Six local favourite brunch spots
Breakfast’s important. So make yours count.
Great weekends always need to begin with a great brunch - it’s not so much a tradition as a ritual. Get your Jersey weekend off to the right start with a slap-up brunch at the island’s breakfast hot spots. Choose from some of these tried and tested local favourites and be warned, you’ll want to try them all.
Cycle, walk or jog to this family-run café on the cycle track along St. Aubin’s bay, and stay for brunch by the sea. Take your pick from eggs florentine to fried eggs on toast - as well as a full English in the mornings. The Lookout brunch is served from 10:00 to 15:00.
Watch the waves roll in as you tuck into Mexican eggs or Tico hash at this surfside restaurant. A popular weekend destination for keen brunchers, pick a table outside in the summer for an alfresco breakfast with a side of fresh sea air.
The weekend brunch at this sea view Gorey restaurant is legendary, from indulgent pancakes and waffles to avocado, sourdough and poached eggs - local and organic of course. Also on the menu, a choice of full English options to set you up for the day.
Venture up to the north-west corner of Jersey for a weekend breakfast with a sea view on the side at this beach café overlooking Grève de Lecq beach. It’s a local institution, and breakfast tastes even better after a walk across the sand or along the cliffs - the nearby coastal path from Grève to Plemont is a popular route.
THE HUNGRY MAN
It doesn’t get much better than brunch at the Hungry Man kiosk overlooking the boats at the picturesque harbour village of Rozel. A proper cup of tea and a bacon roll in the fresh sea air will always blow away the cobwebs.
Watch the world go by with a table on this alfresco terrace. It’s sophisticated brunching at the bright and buzzy Café Zephyr terrace at the Royal Yacht hotel - where brunch doesn’t just come with a good menu, you can also choose from a range of fresh juices to sip while you people watch.
