See dolphins in the wild

A pod of dolphins swimming alongside the boat is a regular sight for the Jersey Seafaris RIB team. Jersey and its archipelago of islands and reefs is one of the best places in the UK to see these beautiful creatures in the wild, and for your chance to glimpse them for yourself, charter a trip or join a Jersey Seafaris tour.

Taste fresh Jersey Royals

When the Jersey Royal potato is in season (March to July) the island’s country lanes are dotted with stalls and honesty boxes where you can buy just-picked Royals for yourself. Look out for them on local restaurant menus - they’re best enjoyed simply with Jersey butter and a pinch of salt to bring out the rich summery flavour of these unique potatoes, only grown in Jersey.

Capture the castle

With not one, but two castles, Jersey’s heritage locations reopen in the spring when you can touch history and escape to their unique settings for yourself. From the mediaeval Mont Orgueil Castle to Elizabeth Castle which dates from the time of Sir Walter Raleigh, get a different view of Jersey’s heritage from the battlements of one of these beautifully preserved historical sites.

Jersey ice-cream

An island famous for its dairy produce makes the perfect excuse to indulge with an ice-cream… or two. Chill out with a Jersey Dairy ice-cream available island-wide or take a break from St Helier shopping to treat yourself to an Italian-style gelato made with local Jersey milk at The Inside Scoop, 1 Bond Street, St Helier.

A walk on the wild side

For a small island, Jersey’s full of natural, wild spaces where you can reconnect and experience nature at its best. Each spring, thousands of wild orchids bloom on National Trust land at St Ouen, where you can explore natural pathways through the orchid meadows at Le Noir Pré.
