Every year, on 09 May, Jersey comes alive with vibrant celebrations to mark Liberation Day, honouring the moment in 1945 when crowds gathered in Liberation Square to welcome British troops and watch the Union Jack unfurl from the balcony of the Pomme d’Or Hotel.
The heart of St. Helier becomes a stage for remembrance and revelry, where stirring speeches and heartfelt stories pay tribute to the island’s journey from occupation to freedom.
