Open Hands is Debbie Crane’s first solo show with CCA Galleries International and the culmination of work she has made over the last five years. Life and art are intertwined for the artist whose family, friends, and everyday local life appear in her work. Debbie Crane has a natural ability in drawing and painting. Her approach is experimental, much like the children she teaches, making pictures in the moment and with a freedom to delve into the possibilities of colour, composition and texture. What transpires is an authenticity that feels both direct and joyful.
