JAYF Open Garden – Oaklands
Visit this beautiful rambling garden with its many specimen shrubs and large pond. The extensive woodland, featuring silver birch, acers and what is reputed to be Jersey’s largest walnut, is a particular highlight. Delicious cream teas available (£5.50). All proceeds to local charity JAYF. Admission £6.00 Under 12s free. Regret no dogs.

Oaklands lawns run from the house to the large pond with a variety of friendly ducks, on a site that was originally farmland. Carefully selected herbaceous plants & shrubs provide this well-established garden with plenty for the plantsman to enjoy.
Walking through the naturalised areas, you will find Cherries, Exochorda, Azalea and Rhododendron and further still a beautiful woodland walk carpeted with bluebells, as well as a kitchen garden.
Oaklands is a plantsman’s garden with a recognised arboretum. The trees planted by Jurat Bonn include Acer, Drimys, Michelia, Dawn Redwood and what is reputed to be Jersey’s largest Walnut tree! An informal and natural feel prevails throughout.

Explore extensive gardens and woodland set around a traditional Jersey farmhouse. As well as the glorious main garden, enjoy the valley, formal herb garden, greenhouse and vegetable garden. Plants and cream teas for sale. All proceeds will go to local charity JAYF.
