Jersey Open Shore Angling Festival | JOSAF
We invite you to the 25th anniversary event and to put yourself up against the fish, the anglers and the elements in your quest for the biggest specimen and the greatest of prestige and recognition against your peers. Jersey's premier shore competition runs 24/7 from 29 Aug to 05 Sept 2026 for seniors and to the 31st Aug for Juniors.

The JOSAF has been arranged to coincide with the Monday August bank holiday, but if you can’t get the time off work or school there is plenty of time to fish in the evenings. Senior entry fee remains at £35; Junior entry fee stays at £10. Great value for an organised fishing event, prize-giving meal, cash prizes, trophies; there is even a £1,000 prize for a new British record and £250 for a C.I. record.
The details appear on our JOSAF facebook page and will include the rules together with specimen weights. Senior and junior sections are separate but we have many prizes and trophies for the youngsters. In addition we are encouraging conservation of our species by offering a trophy to all-comers for the best fish.

Whilst there are fishing venues around the coast of the island that will yield quality fishing opportunities they will be mainly from the piers and beaches. Most participants will need to be fit enough to access fishing marks, cast and reel in their own fish and land them unaided.
