More Information

Jersey’s coastline has never been fixed. At Portelet, raised beaches and coastal features reveal where the sea once stood, offering evidence of how shorelines have shifted over time.

Beginning on the Common and moving towards the bay, this walk with Paul and Megan explores how changing sea levels have influenced both landscape and human use. From ancient occupation to more recent activity, the marks of adaptation remain visible.

It considers how past changes help us understand those still unfolding today.
