Welcome to the once home of Mr J.W. Chapman. Serial-entrepreneur, philanthropist, explorer, bon-vivant, collector of curiosities, occasional rapscallion, persistent socialite, classic eccentric and original builder and proprietor of the hotel from 1881 to 1934. Mr J.W. Chapman had a refined palate and expensive tastes with a penchant for fine food, fine wine, and fine company which drove him to import the best libations the world could offer. Here, we pay homage to his love of feast and festivity and the splendiferous Victorian heritage of this magnificent building in celebrating an exciting time of travel, exploration, invention and all things British with the finest food and drink the world has to offer.
