Take on steep cliffs and winding woodland trails that lead to peaceful bays and historic landmarks on this section of the Jersey Tidal Trail. With uneven ground and a few uphill climbs, this challenging walk rewards your efforts with sweeping sea views, quiet rest spots and an authentic taste of Jersey’s stunning north coast.
Bus route 7 runs from Liberation Station in St. Helier to St. John’s Church. It’s about 30 minutes’ walk from here to Sorel Point, the starting point.
Bus Route 3 runs from the end point at Rozel back to Liberation Station in St. Helier.

The Horse Box

The Rozel Pub & Dining
Traditional country pub, just a two minute stroll from the picturesque Rozel Bay and one of the busiest and best in Jersey. The home cooked traditional style food is superb, the local beer is cold and the service friendly and welcoming.
Swirl ‘n’ Twirl
Swirl 'n' Twirl are an ice cream extravaganza - on wheels. We have an abundance of creamy classics and dreamy delights, and of course, a fan favourite - 'The 99'. So make sure you stop by, whatever the weather, and gorge of a guilt-free treat. You can find us at the gravel carpark on La Rue de Platons in Trinity.
Les Fontaines Tavern
Dating back to the 17th century, and affectionately known to the locals as ‘The Northern Office’. Les Fontaines is a fine traditional pub catering for all the family. Original granite features and oak beams contrast with the modern mezzanine gallery with its vaulted wooden ceiling.
Mad Mary’s Beach Café
Perched at the end of a path just above the sea, Mad Mary's is famous for Hot Chocolate, Bouley Burgers and the larger than life character of the proprietor, Mary Tunney. Located at the very edge of Bouley Bay beach, this wonderful café offers amazing food, drinks and views all day long.

Wander past wonders
Discover a treasure trove of dramatic headlands, hidden bays, and story-soaked landmarks on this unforgettable route. From the soaring cliffs of Sorel Point where Manx Loaghtan sheep often graze, to the intriguing L’Étacquerel Fort guarding the eastern flank of Bouley Bay.
La Belle Hougue Caves
Over 100 years ago, the first sea cave at La Belle Hougue Point on the northeast coast of the Island was discovered when a student’s hat blew off in the wind into a fissure in the cliffs! The contents of the cave tells us about sea level changes and life in the island 125,000 years ago.
La Crête Fort
Nestling on a headland, this tranquil property is built on Jersey’s rugged north coast and is surrounded on three sides by the sea. Bouley Bay
Bouley Bay is a tiny harbour on the north coast flanked by green cliffs with a sandy shelf descending into deep blue waters. Follow a series of hairpin bends as the road winds its way down towards the bay to reveal a deep anchorage. The pebble beach shelves steeply into deep waters best enjoyed by stronger swimmers.
Bonne Nuit Bay
Bonne Nuit, French for ‘good night’ because of its reputation as a quiet and peaceful mooring, is a small natural harbour nestled in the north coast and sheltered by the cliffs towering above it. At low tide, a small sandy beach appears below the pebbles, a perfect spot to build sandcastles, make some beach art or enjoy a picnic.
L’Etacquerel Fort
A rustic retreat on Jersey's north coast - traverse the winding coastal path, lower the drawbridge and enter your own fort on the stunning, rugged north coast of Jersey. Built in the mid-19th Century on a cliff side overlooking Bouley Bay, L’Etacquerel Fort is a great base for exploring Jersey’s rugged north coast or a camping weekend.
Sorel Point
Situated next to a working quarry, this headland has a complex multistage history of moving magma. Beyond the lighthouse built in 1938, the headland stretches out into the sea in a spine of different coloured rocks.
