Deals on Meals - 01 October - 11 November 2015
For 13 years, starting each year on the 1st of October, the Channel Islands looks forward to 6 weeks of great meals at fixed prices. Across Guernsey and Jersey in 2013, nearly 200 restaurants took part (over 100 of them in Jersey) meaning diners once again found outstanding menus and meals created from the wealth of good food available in the islands.
Visit www.tennerfest.com from late September for all the menus in Jersey and the other Channel Islands.
The Tennerfest is a food promotion that encourages local restaurants to create a special, all-inclusive menu that provides the diner with more at a fixed amount. Restaurateurs on both islands are offering menus starting at £10 with £12.50, £15.00, £17.50 and now £20.00 options. This enables the restaurants to offer a wide and exciting selection of food during this promotion.
Highlighting the diversity and choice of food available you'll find cafés, bistros, gastro pubs, seafood restaurants, Italian, Indian and Chinese restaurants as well as the more traditional hotel restaurants all taking part.
A free Tennerfest supplement that includes all the menus and participating restaurants is also distributed with the Jersey Evening Post in the last week of September. Regrettably we do not post these newspapers off-island, please see www.tennerfest.com prior to your arrival and pick up the newspaper when you're here.
The festival provides the perfect reason to visit Jersey in October and November. Over the past decade, the Tennerfest has grown in popularity, providing diners with excellent value-for-money and an accessible way to sample the best of Jersey’s vibrant food scene. Menus often feature island delicacies such as local lobster, oysters and fresh langoustines.
Some establishments continue to offer the £10 menus which originally founded Tennerfest, however these days a number of the participating restaurants also offer two to four-course menus for £12.50, £15.00, £17.50 & £20.00.
Visitors to Jersey are often amazed that despite its size, the island is home to such an array of restaurants. Much of Jersey’s food produce is widely-renowned such as Jersey Royals, Jersey Jewel tomatoes, Jersey black butter and a variety of great seafood, and this has become synonymous with the island’s reputation.
