Festival Gala Concert: The Selfish Giant
KCO's Gala concert Directed by Gerard Le Feuvre includes a world premier of Rossini's Double Bass and Cello Concerto and Oscar Wilde's moving short Story The Selfish Giant set to music by Vivaldi. Other elements include a charming early 20th century film about Shoes (!) with a specially composed Score and masterpieces by Borodin and Mendelssohn.

This years Gala concert contains a great variety of music, from the Baroque and Romantic periods with KCO's usual and unusual mix of improvisations, film music, and the element of surprise. An especially composed version of Rossini's Duet for Cello and Double Bass with Orchestra accompaniment presents an exciting start to an evening that will be refreshing presented as ever in a most engaing way by Gerard Le Feuvre
