Did you know that at Liberation in May 1945 the island was kept under military rule for a further 90 days? This was of course a welcome Occupation by the friendly forces of Force 135, who were tasked with clearing the German mines, munitions, bunkers and booby traps and return the Island to civilian rule as soon as possible.
Come and see a part of this incredible story recreated by the living historians of Force 135 Living History Group at Elizabeth Castle.
