From 09 to 18 May, the 2025 Liberation Festival offers a feast of music with a theme of escape and reflecting joy through music commemorating the 80th anniversary of Jersey's liberation with an array of captivating musical events.

From a boat smuggling re-enactment to world-class concerts by the London Mozart Players and artists from New York's Lincoln Center, the festival offers something for everyone. Enjoy jazz with Clare Teal, choral works by the ORA Singers the celebration of the 100 years since the discovery of the tomb at Hougue Bie and more across iconic Jersey locations.
The Festival reflects the contrast and reflections between life off island where the liberating forces freed the population to much rejoicing to life on island where the cutting of food supplies had led to starvation. Don't miss this celebration of music, history, and freedom.

Escape to France Part 2: Granville RIB Experience
From Gorey to Granville! A unique experience retracing history from Jersey to France! Join fellow WW2 escapees departing Gorey by RIB at 8:30am, time to explore the town, and readings and music in Notre Dame de Granville (11:30am-12:15pm) before returning to Jersey for 1.30pm.

Directed by Suzi Digby OBE, the award-winning ORA Singers perform Liberté, a brand new programme constructed specially to mark the 80th Anniversary of Jersey's liberation from German occupation. This concert is suppoted by Quilter Cheviot, ORA Choir and Music in Action.

Escape to France Pt 1: Boat Smuggling & Procession
Join the first installation of the Escape to France, a day of music, history, and adventure. A boat smuggling re-enactment telling the story of smuggling a boat from St. Helier to a safe port. Join a procession from Norman’s warehouses to Gorey Pier (1-4pm), with musical stops at Georgetown, Grouville Church and Gorey Church.

A gala night of film music from the second world war in a “Last night of the Proms” style evening celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Jersey.
